BSS Sporting Club is a professional football club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 2015, the club competes in CFL Premier Division, the top-tier football league in West Bengal organised by Indian Football Association, football governing body of West Bengal.
History
B.S.S. Sporting Club, which started its journey in the year 2015, has already became a pioneer in the Kolkata football circuits. It has created history by becoming champions for consecutive 3 years in the CFL lower divisions, before stepping into the Premier Division.
In 2018–19 season, the club was managed by Arun Kumar Ghosh. In 2019, B.S.S. Sporting participated in Governor's Gold Cup in Sikkim.
B.S.S. Sporting has been participating in the prestigious IFA Shield tournament as well, since 2020. In June 2023, the Indian Football Association (IFA) announced the merger of both Premier Division A and B of the Calcutta Football League ahead of its 125th edition, in which BSS was placed in Group II.
Klubbens hemmastadion är Salt Lake Stadium, som även är hemstadion för det indiska fotbollslandslaget. BSS Sporting har vunnit Calcutta Football League ett flertal gånger, senast 2018. Klubben har också deltagit i flera nationella cuptävlingar, inklusive Indian Super Cup och Federation Cup.
BSS Sporting är känd för sin offensiva spelstil och sitt starka stöd från fansen. Klubben har en lång historia av att utveckla unga talanger och har fostrat flera indiska landslagsspelare.
