Wikipedia - Ayr United FC

Ayr United är en skotsk fotbollsklubb från Ayr bildad 1910. Den bildades genom en sammanslagning av de skotska ligaklubbarna Ayr FC (bildad 1879) och Ayr Parkhouse FC (bildad 1886). Klubben spelar sina hemmamatcher på Somerset Park (tidigare hemmaarena för Ayr FC). Klubbfärgerna är svart och vitt. Ayr United spelar sedan 2018 i Scottish Championship.

Ayr United Football Club är en professionell fotbollsklubb baserad i Ayr, Skottland. Klubben grundades 1879 och spelar sina hemmamatcher på Somerset Park. Ayr United tävlar i Scottish Championship, den näst högsta divisionen i skotsk fotboll.

Klubbens smeknamn är "The Honest Men", som kommer från en anekdot från 1920-talet då en motståndarlagets spelare frågade en Ayr United-spelare om hans yrke och fick svaret "Jag är en ärlig man, jag".

Ayr United har vunnit Scottish League One tre gånger, 1997-98, 2000-01 och 2012-13. Klubben har vunnit Scottish Challenge Cup två gånger, 2002-03 och 2017-18. Ayr United har också nått finalen i Scottish Cup tre gånger, 1925, 1932 och 1970, men förlorade varje gång.
