Basket - Champions League

The Basketball Champions League (BCL), also commonly known as the FIBA Champions League, is an annual professional basketball competition for European clubs, organised by FIBA. It is the top-level competition organised by FIBA Europe, therefore the champion participates in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.

Clubs qualify for the competition mostly based on performance in their national leagues and cup competitions. Although exceptional, some teams can be wildcarded.

Each season consists of 32 teams. The inaugural season was held in 2016–17 and since then five different clubs won the competition. Canarias and San Pablo Burgos hold the joint record of most BCL titles with two each.

Basket - Champions League är en internationell klubbturnering i basket för lag från de främsta ligorna i Europa. Turneringen organiseras av FIBA, det internationella förbundet för basketboll.

Basket - Champions League grundades år 2016, som en ersättning för tidigare FIBA Europe Cup. Turneringen är uppdelad i två faser: en gruppspelsfas och en utslagsfas. I gruppspelsfasen delas lagen in i åtta grupper om fyra lag, med de två bästa lagen från varje grupp som går vidare till utslagsfasen.

Utslagsfasen består av åtta lag, som spelar i ett enkelmatchformat. De fyra bästa lagen går vidare till Final Four, som spelas på en neutral plan.

Vinnarna av Basket - Champions League får en plats i EuroLeague, den främsta klubbturneringen i Europa, följande säsong.
